May Day 2020

Thanks to all of you for your many orders and for all the new subscribers to our newsletter. Remember to claim your free herb plant when you pick up the rest of your plants. We have been busy planting successions of flowers and vegetables, along with potting up our other plants. Our inventory is updated weekly, so take a look to see if something you wanted has been restocked. We always have Salanova lettuce ready to cut if you would like some salad. Our greenhouse tomatoes have been pruned twice already and are flowering nicely. We will have some marvelous heart shaped tomatoes soon.

While it is still a bit early for planting, at least in our little frost pocket, we will be open 09 May for Mother’s day flowers and early pick-ups. The geraniums should be ready, along with some marigolds, some smaller flowers, maybe the lisianthus, and a small selection of hanging baskets. We will resume our regular hours (Wednesday-Sunday 9-5 or by appointment) 16 May continuing for the rest of the summer.

We have completed the mandatory VT Covid training prior to opening and will be following the protocol. Please give us a time window when you would like to pick up your plants, and we will put them aside for you near your vehicle. You will then be free to see what else is interesting in our greenhouse. We will be outside to offer assistance and answer questions. Happy spring, and we hope to see you soon.

Nice Easter tulips

Easter 2020

Tulips were a successful producer for Easter. As we could not sell any due to the “Stay Home” order, they were donated to our neighbors. For next year, we will be planting more in pots. The freesia was also a success, and we will have more potted up for next year. During the last month, we have been very busy planting and potting up. It is interesting that most of our seed vendors have sold out of the common items and have stopped taking new orders until May. Our online store is now functioning for flower, herb, and vegetable purchases. Starting 01 May, we will be offering greenhouse-side pick-up of your order. Please look at our selection of plant starts and get your order in early as supplies are limited.
